Morning Star
Yesterday was a tough day. Not the kind of day where everything falls apart…but the kind where the weight of things just settles in. The kind where I was tired, discouraged and a little worn down by life. Maybe you’ve been there too.
But this morning I was reminded of something. It’s reflected in this picture I took of the sunrise breaking through the tree. “The faithful love of the Lord never ends. His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” -Lamentations 3:22–23 Every morning God gives us something remarkable: A reset.
Fog lies low in the valley still,
The sun breaks softly on the hill.
Then golden beams of blazing light
Push back the darkness from my sight.
Shimmering branches on the pine,
A quiet scene that feels divine.
The days pass quickly, this we know,
But moments like this help me grow.
The bright Morning Star breaks the day,
A gentle call for me to pray.
Shining bright the heavens proclaim:
Thank you, Jesus, I bless Your name.
