No Going Back
I stopped for this photograph because of the light pushing its way down the rails. I stayed in this moment because I felt the tension between looking forward and going back.
There are moments in life where we know we cannot return to who we were or where we once belonged, yet we're not quite sure what waits ahead. These thoughts arose in my mind because I was back visiting Erie, a place I called home for six years. Six years of memories came flooding back on that short trip back to Erie and there at those tracks I knew there was no going back. Just visiting, reminiscing and awaiting the next stop on my journey. Erie and its people taught me a great deal about life and ministry and I am forever grateful for that season in my life even as I journey down the tracks toward whatever comes next.
