Imago Dei
Most people know about milkweed because of what it provides. It's the host plant for monarch butterflies, and that's a wonderful thing. But before there are caterpillars... before there are butterflies... there are these tiny blossoms.
Delicate. Intricate. Beautiful.
It made me wonder if we sometimes do the same thing with people.
How often do we appreciate someone more for what they provide than for who they are? We value productivity over personhood. We celebrate usefulness while overlooking the beauty God has already placed within them.
The truth is, your worth isn't found in what you produce. It isn't measured by how much you accomplish, how much you earn, or how much you do for others.
You have value because you were created by God, in His image.
Maybe today you could take some time to notice the beauty that's already there...in creation, and in the people around you.
