A Small Thing
While walking out in the forest I noticed this acorn that has split with the soon coming spring. Inside it’s a bright red. It is such a small thing, but the potential in the acorn is tremendous. If, and that’s a big IF, this acorn can take root and begin to mature it will turn into a keystone species of our forest, feeding wildlife and insects for decades. It will become one of the most important trees in the entire ecosystem. In other words…the potential in this seed is incalculable. It may never make it there, but it has started. And oddly enough, that small dropping left from the deer and the decaying leaves all help it on its journey.
Large things often have insignificant and slow beginnings. That could preach!
